Building Department Permits

The Whitestown Building Department Building Division processes, reviews, and issues all building permits within the Town of Whitestown, and performs all building inspections applying building codes adopted by the State of Indiana.

Please note: You must schedule a time to pick up permits, Certificates of Occupancy, and Certificates of Completion in person at the Municipal Complex. Contact Heather Wetzel at 317-732-4533 or hwetzel@whitestown.in.gov.

Applying for Permits

The Building Division accepts all permit applications, plans, and inspection requests electronically through Mobile-Eyes.

Apply for and view your permit information via our online permitting software Mobile-Eyes and our plan review software Bluebeam. Once you create an account in Mobile-Eyes, you can submit your permit applications, request inspections, and monitor your job(s) progress.

Requesting Inspections

When it is time to have your job inspected, log back into Mobile Eyes under the permit portal. If you log into the inspection portal, you will not see your job listed; this portal is used by the Town’s Fire Marshall.

Please note:

  • Online payments take twenty-four (24) hours to clear your account. When you receive your payment confirmation page, please allow this time for the payment to clear your account to avoid duplicate payment of fees.
  • A convenience fee will be applied to all credit card payments. The fee currently is $1.00 + 1.99% of the charged permit fee.
    • Example: Permit Fee: $350 + $1.00 + 1.99% Credit Card Fee ($6.98) = $357.98

Online payments are accepted for:

  • Permit payments
  • Certificate of Occupancy fees

Once your permit fee has been processed, your permit will be emailed to the account listed on the permit application. Please print the permit in color and have it posted on the job site.

An appointment is recommended when making payments in person. Checks and credit cards (convenience fees apply) are accepted for permit fees. Our office is located at:

Your permit will be given to you at the time payment is made. The permit should be posted on the job site.
