Engineering and Stormwater Department

The Engineering and Stormwater Department manages and guides the Town of Whitestown concerning the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of private and public infrastructure projects. It includes roadways, storm drainage, sidewalks, trails, handicap accessibility, and other private and public development projects within the Town.

The Town of Whitestown Engineering Department also oversees the Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) related program for the Town.

This includes:

  • MS4 Program Management and permit issuance  (NOI and NOTs)
  • SWPP plan reviews and inspections
  • Inspections and maintenance of BMP’s
  • MS4 public education programs (Example)

Applicants should submit all SWPP plans to the Boone County Surveyor’s office as part of the drainage plan submittals process. Final SWPP approvals will be issued by Whitestown’s Engineering department.

Starting September 29, we will be transitioning to CityWorks for all new Right-of-Way & Road Closure permit-related services, including payments.
