Sep 10, 2025 | News, Parks & Recreation Department

Whitestown, IN [September 10, 2025] – Calling all dog lovers! You and your pups are invited to Hops and Hounds on Thursday, September 18, from 5:30–7:30 p.m. at Gateway Park for an evening full of tail wags, treats, and fun activities.

Your pup will have plenty of fun activities to enjoy, including:

  • K9 Cardio Fitness will be on-site, giving dogs (ages 6 months and up) a chance to try a short slatmill run, a great way to get some healthy exercise and see your pup in action.
  • Agility Course where pups can go off-leash to run, play, and socialize with other dogs.
  • Livelovepaint Studio LLC will be in attendance, offering “Your Pooch Paints” kits for $10 per painting. Your dog can unleash their inner artist and create a one-of-a-kind paw print painting.

As the dogs have their fun, owners can:

  • Watch live K-9 demonstrations from the Whitestown Metropolitan Police Department.
  • Relax and sip on adult beverages and eat dinner from a local food truck.
  • Shop and meet a variety of local businesses and pet-related vendors.

“Our goal with Hops and Hounds is to create a safe, welcoming environment where dog lovers can gather and have fun,” stated Assistant Town Manager/Director of Parks, Dominic Cornett. “With everything from live demonstrations to adoptable rescues, there’s truly something for everyone.”

Are you looking to add a new member to your family? The Humane Society of Boone County will be on-site with adorable rescue dogs looking for their forever homes.

“Hops and Hounds is a great example of how we can support local businesses, promote public spaces like Gateway Park, and offer something enjoyable for everyone,” said Town Manager Katie Barr. “We’re excited to see residents and their pets out enjoying the town.”

Bring your dog, grab a drink, and join the fun!
