
Battle of the Badges 5K
Lace-up your running (or walking) shoes for the fourth-annual Battle of the Badges 5K on Saturday, April 12. This year, the race will begin and end at 300 S. Main St. in Whitestown (in the parking lot). Participants will race through Legacy Core and the Big 4 Linear Trail.

This family-friendly event features a fun competition between the Whitestown Fire Department and the Whitestown Metropolitan Police Department. Choose which team you will support when you register and let the battle begin! The department with the most signups will receive the coveted Battle of the Badges trophy. It is not required to be a first responder to join our 5k, all are welcome at this event.
The race kicks off at 8 a.m. in Whitestown’s Legacy Core. The route features Whitestown’s Legacy Core and the Big 4 Rail Trail. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Witham’s Center for Hope Project. Details about the medals and shirts can be found on the registration website. Following the race LA Cafe (4 S Main Street) will host a post-race brunch from 8-11 a.m.
Weather permitting, primary parking will be available in the field at Panther Park (300 S Buck St).
Primary Parking Details:
- Enter the Panther Park south parking lot off of Buck St. into the grass at Panther Park
- Whitestown Parks & Recreation staff will direct traffic and park cars into the Panther Park field
- All parking locations and roads for the route will close promptly at 7:50 a.m.
If unable to park at the field of at Panther Park, secondary parking will be available.
Secondary Parking Details:
- Moontown side parking lot: 345 S. Bowers St.
- Big 4 Trailhead: 104 S. Main St.
- LA Cafe: 4 S. Main St.
- Lot on the corner of Main and Pierce: 2 E. Pierce St.
Please be aware that the parking areas are within the road closure, and the road will close at 7:50 a.m.; if you arrive after this time, other parking accommodations will have to be found.

No, all are welcome to this event! Please choose your team (Whitestown Metropolitan Police Department or Whitestown Fire Department) to support when registering.
