Would you like to win FREE meat for a year plus other prizes? How about a chance to have the President of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Douglas Boles, come and visit you at your house? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! The Town of Whitestown is gearing up for an exciting celebration of the Indianapolis 500 and wants residents and business owners to be part of the action! In the spirit of “This is May,” the town asks residents and business owners to host racing-themed Porch Parties that embody the spirit of the Indianapolis 500.
The Porch Parties are a great way for the community to come together, connect, and celebrate the spirit of the Indianapolis 500. Free Porch Party Kits will be available to the first 500 fans on Friday, May 3, from 6-9 p.m. at the Harrison Center. These kits are available on a first-come, first-served basis and include everything you need to get your porch ready for the “Greatest Spectacle in Racing.”
But don’t worry race fans, if you miss out on a free kit – you can still join the fun by purchasing your own racing decorations and creatively decorating your porch and yard.
Here’s how you can participate in the official Indy 500 Porch Party Contest:
- Pick up a limited number of the Official Indy 500 free Porching Party Kit from the Harrison Center (1505 N Delaware St, Indianapolis, IN 46202) on Friday, May 3, from 6-9 p.m. or purchase your own racing decorations.
- Deck out your front porch or lawn in Indy 500-inspired décor.
- Register your decorated home to participate in the official Indy 500 Porch Party Contest.
- Encourage your neighbors to participate and decorate their porch as well!
- Take pictures of your porch party and share them on social media using the hashtag #porchpartyindy
- The top three homes with the best-decorated porches will receive grand prizes courtesy of Indianapolis Motor Speedway partners. Home submissions will be judged following the Indy 500 Qualifying Weekend, and winners will be notified by Monday, May 20.
Now’s the time to start your engines and come together as a community to showcase our creativity, celebrate the spirit of the Indianapolis 500, and connect with neighbors. We can’t wait to see the amazing Porch Parties residents will host on their way to the checkered flag!
