Town of Whitestown announces plans for Independence Day celebration

Jun 5, 2020 | News, Parks & Recreation Department

The Town of Whitestown has announced plans for its fireworks show on Friday, July 3.

“Out of abundance of caution and care for our community, we have decided to modify our Independence Day celebration this year,” said Whitestown Parks Director Savannah Solgere. “We will not be having a kids zone, food vendors and live music like past years, but we are still providing our residents with a fantastic fireworks show.”

Fireworks will be launched at 10 p.m. from Eagle Church (5801 South Main Street), but no spectators are allowed on the campus. The fireworks will also be livestreamed on the Town’s Facebook and YouTube pages.

“We encourage our residents to celebrate safely with their families,” said Solgere. “The fireworks will be launched 100 feet higher this year to give residents a better view from their homes. We hope to resume our traditional celebration in 2021.”
