Whitestown Parks and Recreation will host its fourth annual Viking Fest on April 23-25 at Anson Park located at 4671 Anson Blvd.
There will be Viking-themed reenactors in full garb attire swinging their weapons, multiple Viking villages, artisans, themed food and more. The festival is open to the public and includes a kids zone (that will close at dark on Friday and Saturday).
Guests can participate in archery and axe throwing. Strong men and women can enter a Keg Toss competition while the strong young Vikings can participate in an Iron Skillet toss competition. There will be different ages groups for the prize winners.
“The Vikings sell their wares and artisan crafted items throughout the whole festival – crowd favorites being decorated/engraved drinking horns, silver jewelry, leather goods, soaps, swords, and much more,” said Whitestown Parks Director Savannah Solgere. “There is something for everyone at Viking Fest.”
The times for the event are:
• Friday: 4 – 10 p.m.
• Saturday: 11 a.m. – 10 p.m.
• Sunday: 12 – 5 p.m.
Admission is $5 per person and free for ages two and under. Tickets are available online or at the gate.
