Whitestown plans for alternative National Night Out celebration

Jul 28, 2020 | News, Parks & Recreation Department, Whitestown Metropolitan Police Department

The Whitestown Metropolitan Police Department has announced plans to safely celebrate National Night Out on Tuesday, August 4 with a Unity Patrol.

National Night Out is an annual event that promotes police-community partnerships and provides an opportunity to bring police and residents together under positive circumstances.

“Instead of the traditional large gathering like we have held in past years, our officers will drive through our local neighborhoods to wave at residents from a safe distance,” said Whitestown Chief of Police Scott Rolston. “We encourage families to come outside and say hi while remaining at least six feet from their neighbors.”

The drive-by celebration will begin at 6:30 pm. on Tuesday, August 4. The route is as follows with approximate times listed (subject to change):

• 6:30 pm. – Legacy Core

• 6:45 p.m. – Walker Farms

• 7 p.m. – Harvest Park

• 7:15 p.m. – Clark Meadows and Edmonds Creek

• 7:30 p.m. – Main Street (south) and Whitestown Parkway

• 7:35 p.m. – Maple Grove

• 7:50 p.m. – Eagles Nest and Westwood Landing
