Whitestown, IN – [April 7, 2025] – Get ready to run, walk, and cheer at the Battle of the Badges 5K, returning for its fourth year on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 8 a.m. Participants will race through Legacy Core and the Big 4 Trail.
This event brings together the Whitestown Fire Department and the Whitestown Metropolitan Police Department in an exciting competition to see which department can get the most support. Participants pick their team when they register, and the department with the most sign-ups will win the coveted Battle of the Badges 5K trophy! Although the 5K features a friendly competition between first responders, the event is open to everyone, and you do not need to be a first responder to join in on the fun.
“We’re proud to host this exciting event and see participants of all ages and backgrounds join together for a fun race,” stated Dominic Cornett, the Assistant Town Manager/Director of Parks.
This year, a portion of the proceeds will be given to Witham’s Center for Hope, which provides a safe haven for victims of violence.
After the race, LA Café is hosting a post-race brunch from 8-11 a.m.
“The Battle of the Badges 5K is a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together and support a great cause,” said Town Manager Katie Barr.
