Military Banner program coming to Whitestown

Nov 9, 2022 | News

The Military Banner program, sponsored by the James Hill Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR), is coming to Whitestown.

The Military Banner program was created to honor and recognize individuals who have served or are currently serving in the United States armed forces. Banners will be placed on light poles throughout Whitestown.

The program is currently active in Lebanon and beginning in Jamestown.

To be eligible, an individual must have served, have been honorably discharged, or must be currently serving in the United States armed forces. The individual may be living or deceased. This program honors all, whether they served in time of conflict or peace.

The vinyl banner design will depict the individual on both sides and will be displayed for a year. When the banner is taken down, it will be given to the purchaser. If the individual died in the line of duty, a gold star will be placed on the banner. If they served in peace time, the area of conflict on the banner will be blank. If the individual served during more than one conflict, all will be listed on the banner.

To reserve a banner, contact Jane Lee at 317-413-9973 or leejb@sbcglobal.net. There are a limited number of banners available. Orders are taken on a first-come, first-served basis, with an approved photo (in uniform) and payment of $120. The deadline for submission is December 14, 2022.
