WMPD Responds to Semi/Car Crash Where Alcohol Was A Contributing Factor

On 10/17/2019, at approximately 5:19 pm, Whitestown Metropolitan Police Officers, Boone County Sheriff’s Deputies, and multiple Boone County Fire/EMS agencies were dispatched to a vehicle collision with injury involving a semi-truck and a passenger car at the intersection of SR 267 and Indianapolis Road. Law enforcement and Fire/EMS personnel arrived at the scene and immediately began treating 5 occupants of the passenger car and 1 occupant of the semi-truck for injuries.

            Five people involved in the crash were transported to area hospitals for their injuries. It was determined that the semi-truck was heading southbound on SR 267 and the passenger car was headed eastbound on Indianapolis Road.

            Due to the severity of several injuries, the Boone County Fatal Alcohol Crash team is completing an investigation of the accident. Alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor at this time.
