Lace Up for the Whitestown Battle of the Badges 5K

Apr 17, 2024 | News

Whitestown, IN [April 17, 2024] – Get ready to lace up your running (or walking) shoes for the Battle of the Badges 5K on Saturday, April 20 at 8 a.m. This year, participants will race through the heart of Whitestown in Legacy Core and on the Big 4 Trail.

The Battle of the Badges 5K differs from most, it is the spirited competition between the Whitestown Fire Department and the Whitestown Metropolitan Police Department. When registering for the event, participants have the opportunity to choose which team they’ll rally behind. Whether you’re rooting for the brave firefighters or the dedicated police officers, one thing’s for certain – the battle is on!

But you don’t have to be a first responder to partake in the fun. All are welcome to join in this family-friendly event, whether you’re a seasoned runner or simply looking for a stroll.

“We’re excited to host the Battle of the Badges 5K,” said Katie Barr, Whitestown Town Manager. “It’s a fantastic opportunity for our community to come together, have fun, and support a meaningful cause.”

The Battle of the Badges 5K also serves a greater purpose. A portion of the proceeds from the event will be donated to The Caring Center in Lebanon. The Caring Center is a non-profit organization that provides food, clothing, personal care items, and more services to families or individuals in need.

“We’re thrilled to partner with the Caring Center,” said Dominic Cornett, Director of Whitestown Parks and Recreation. “Together we can ensure that no family in our community goes hungry or without essential needs. By joining forces, we create a ripple effect of care that reaches those who need it most.”

Join us on Saturday, April 20 for a morning filled with excitement, camaraderie, and community spirit. Lace up those shoes, pick your team, and let the battle begin!
