A Community Tree Planting Event in Whitestown

Apr 19, 2024 | News

Whitestown, IN [April 19, 2024] – This Earth Day, join us in a collective effort to enhance the natural beauty of Whitestown by participating in the event, Planting for Tomorrow. On Monday, April 22, at 9 a.m., trees will be planted on the newer section of the Big 4 Trail, located off 575 East behind Fire Station 271.

“Everyone is welcome to participate!” said Katie Barr, Whitestown Town Manager. “Whether you’re a longtime resident, a nature enthusiast, or simply someone who cares about the planet. We invite you to roll up your sleeves and get involved.”

During the event, participants will have the opportunity to work alongside the Whitestown Parks Maintenance Team to plant oak trees. Chosen for their compatibility with the existing ecosystem, these trees will not only enhance the aesthetics of our surroundings but also contribute to the ecological balance of the area.

To ensure a successful tree-planting effort, we encourage participants to bring their own shovels, gloves, and any other supplies that may assist in the planting process.

“We’re excited for the event, Planting for Tomorrow, and celebrate Earth Day with our community,” said Dominic Cornett, Director of Whitestown Parks and Recreation. “By coming together to plant trees, we’re not only beautifying our surroundings but also leaving a positive impact on the environment for future generations to enjoy.”
