Chief John Hancock Leadership Award

The John Hancock Leadership award is presented to the officer or firefighter who exemplifies the best qualities of leadership in the fire service.

Firefighter of the Year

The Firefighter of the Year award is given to the member that goes above and beyond the normal job description of a firefighter, either on a consistent basis or through an individual act.

Greg Bedell EMS Provider of the Year

The Greg Bedell EMS Provider of the Year is awarded to the EMT or EMT-Paramedic that best exemplifies, through performance or deed, the furthering of medical service to the community.

Ur Allen Rookie of the Year

The Ur Allen Rookie of the Year is awarded to the rookie member who displays the best qualities of the fire service in their first year with the department.

Commendations

Unit Commendation is awarded to any group of members deserving of special recognition for any cooperative act or feat during an incident or through the course of normal business.

Individual Commendation is awarded to any member deserving of special recognition for any act during an incident or through the course of normal business.

Citizen Heroism Award

This award is presented to any member of the public that demonstrates acts of heroism, courage, sacrifice, or valor in deed or service to the community or an individual.

John Hull Civilian Valor

This award is the modern-day equivalent of the Community Heroism Award.

Whitestown Fire Department Medal of Valor

The Medal of Valor is only issued for acts of true heroism and selfless sacrifice in the execution of duties to save or attempt to save another life.
