Town of Whitestown welcomes Human Resources Director

May 25, 2022 | News

The Town of Whitestown announces the hiring of Katie Barr as Director of Human Resources.

Katie will be responsible for coordinating the human resource functions of the Town, including managing personnel, administering compensation and benefits, and ensuring employment-related legal compliance.

“We are pleased to welcome Katie to our team,” said Whitestown Town Council President Clinton Bohm. “Katie’s background in human resources and operations gives her a great foundation to serve our employees and the larger community.”

For more than 18 years, Katie has worked in human resources, accounting, business administration, and project management. She most recently served as VP of Operations at ProAxis Group Inc. in West Lafayette, Indiana.

“As Whitestown continues to grow, our needs as an employer have as well,” said Bohm. “Katie will be our first full-time Director of Human Resources and I look forward to working with her to build the future.”

Barr holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resource Management from the University of Phoenix.

“I am enthusiastic to join the Whitestown team during such an exciting time of growth,” said Barr. “I have a passion for the workforce, and I genuinely care about each and every employee regardless of their titles. I enjoy the challenge of finding not only a win for the organization I’m working for, but also for the employees.”

Outside of work, Katie enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors, and engaging in the community.

Barr began working at the Town of Whitestown on May 23.
