Whitestown Mourns the Passing of Town Council Vice President

May 25, 2024 | News

It is with a heavy heart to announce the passing of Whitestown Town Council Vice President, Tanya Sumner. She was a dedicated and esteemed member of our community and town council.

Vice President Sumner joined the Town Council in 2023 and served our community with unwavering dedication and a profound commitment to making Whitestown a better place for all residents. She brought invaluable insight and leadership to her role as a council member.

“The town of Whitestown has lost a dedicated leader who will leave a void in all our hearts. Vice President Sumner wasn’t just a dedicated councilwoman, she was ingrained in our community and cared deeply for her family, friends, neighbors, and colleagues,” said Whitestown Town Manager Katie Barr. “Her love for this community was infectious and will be sorely missed.”
